This is a nightmare senario for South Tangi.
This samething happened in spring of 1983. The difference is that then it was already flooded.

Just came to post the same thing. Last thing the NS needs is more water with no place to go.

Yeah just heard this on the local radio station.I live just west of McComb and thats the big news here. The DJ was saying that you dont need to be on the road "unless you live south of Lake Tangi".They havent said what caused the possible break yet.

The latest is that it is not leaking right now. They say it may break but there are mudslides on the back side of it but no leaks at present. That comes from the Pike County civil defense.

Robert, Kentwood, Osyka, and everyone downriver are in the path. River at present time is at flood stage for a number of areas. Corps of Engineers are saying if it breaks, it will bring a minimum of 3 additional feet of water down the area.
Mudslides and debris causing natural dams to form downriver are also a huge risk they say -

that's insane. tangipohoa, roseland, etc. will be flooded.

greensburg should be ok. Osyka, Kentwood, tangipohoa, roseland, amite may get it pretty bad.

I thought that lake was to be drained this fall for dam repairs. I hope it holds. Beautful campground. Use to rv there 10 years ago.
