In downtown Ponchatoula just south of 22. Lost power at 1pm. Tree fell on my neighbors house about 2pm. Big oak tree fell across the driveway. Just missed one of our cars and landed about a foot away from the corner of the house.
We are very blessed nothing was damaged.

Can anyone tell me about conditions in The Sanctuary subdivision in Mandeville?
Preserve is flooded. It looked pretty deep I doubt residents can get in or out. It got a little nasty while I was out there so I didn't get too close.

Thanks for the info. I'm just south of you between the Live Oak Church and Jim Willie Road. Hope to be there tomorrow to check out things.

Owner of Friend's Restaurant (Madisonville on the river) just posted on FB restauarant total loss, his boat his sinking and he has 3' of water in his house (not sure where that is).
Another friend posted water at her camp (on Tch river) higher than flood of '82 (the benchmark for such things).

Just drove through magnolia and Westchester. Some minor street flooding and ditches filling up. A tree is on the power lines on hickory St. I checked the canal by abbey elementary since it runs behind my moms house on OST and it has a few feet before it tops.

Downtown ponchatoula still has power. Has anyone else's charter gone out?
Posted on 8/29/12 at 4:09 pm to BobBoucher
I think the reddish is almost out of stuff to sell.

My old man is there now filling up a few cans... so they have some at the moment.

I live in downtown Ponchatoula and I am out. Main street probably still has it but I'm a block off it and don't have power. I walked over to a neighbors house who has generator and we're watching the news on Charter. So it's not out.
