I'm still not sure how I have had Direct TV not go out so far
Posted on 8/29/12 at 11:09 am to TigerTatorTots
Apparently higher clouds don't mess with the signal

Was thinking the same thing. shite goes out during a normal summer afternoon shower.

My dad is in Covington (Riverwood subdivision), said his DirecTV has been holding up for the most part, but anytime there's a flicker of power the whole thing has to reset. This was a couple of hours ago.

I love in Normandy Oaks in Covington, but staying with the in-laws in Natchez Trace on the other side of 21 since they have a generator. We just lost power here.

I have a good buddy who lives in Normandy Oaks and they just lost their power about an hour ago.

In Old Covington near Tyler..power on, direct TV on (how and the f&%^$ is that possible?!?!). Wind gusts and driving rain, ditches are not even close to being full. Downed trees are at a minimum - mostly rotten ones.

Off of river road near lee rd in covington... Power off since 9am... Oh well I expected much earlier

power finally flickered but came back on at OST. Carroll road is blocked by a downed tree

Still have power here in Folsom north of goodbee. Really not sure how that is possible since it goes out for the smallest storm.

Still have power west of Hammond, and Verizon still holding up at full strength.
Damn, this storm is moving slow
