That's what I was thinking. I find it hard to believe two trees fell on two cars within a couple weeks.

The longer it takes for the "dirty side" to arrive at BR the less bad it will be, in my opinion. That means that the storm will have some time to 'wind down' as it gradually moves wnw/nw to your west. There's no doubt this will be a long duration event with lots a strong wind and rain but it may not be a 1-2 hour raging storm squall you experienced during Gustav. Just different storm dynamics. It may be a little more boring that way too, but hopefully less damaging. But I'm no meteorologist, just an avid weather watcher.

Is it just me, or relative to other areas does it look like BR might not get it all that bad. It almost looks like we r too west to get "pounded" Am I looking at this wrong?

Weren't there projections that the storm could go from a 1/2 to a 2/3 even once it made landfall because there was still part of the storm off the coast? I'm not saying it will get to a cat. 2 or 3, just that the projections said the storm could get stronger.

It would seem the average poster here thinks that BR is waiting to get slammed like it was a giant tornado at a defined time. Just trying to enlighten those who ask 'when's it going to hit?' and when's it going to get real?' etc.

Two transformers just blew near my house in Mid-City during that strong squall. I've still got power for now.
