I keep getting emails that they will remain open. What happens when someone gets hurt on the way to class because LSU is too stubborn to shut down for a couple of days?

Can't expect them to divert their time from anchoring beer threads on the F&DB, can you?

"Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff:

We have just received word that LSU A&M will indeed be closed, and classes cancelled, tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday. As noted in my earlier message, we will follow suit and do likewise here at the Law Center.

Today’s classes will continue to be held on schedule, subject to the availability, on a case by case basis, of professors traveling from outlying locations. The library will close at 8 p.m. tonight.

At this time, we anticipate reopening in full on Thursday, depending of course on the impact of the storm and conditions on the ground as we approach Thursday.

As noted previously, further updating e-mail messages regarding Law Center closures will be sent by Vice Chancellor Greg Smith (who is currently in class). Announcements also will be posted to our website (www.law.lsu.edu) and available on the Law Center Information Line (225-578-5292, option #6). Messages will also be distributed through the LSU Emergency text message service. We strongly encourage you to sign up for this service if you have not done so already. To subscribe, please log in to your "My LSU" account, click on "Personal Preferences" and "Emergency Contacts" and enter your cell number.

One additional note of caution: LSU officials currently anticipate that weather conditions here in Baton Rouge may be quite benign through tonight, and even into tomorrow morning, but that conditions will deteriorate rapidly thereafter. Please do not be lulled into complacency by the pleasant run-up to the storm, and do take the precautions necessary to insure your safety and that of your families. Best regards to all. Jack Weiss"
