How can they expect everyone to know when it's announced 90 minutes before it goes into effect?

If they put it back on tomorrow, then sure, but they are going to arrest someone for not living by a battery powered radio?

I was thinking the same thing. What if you are just a clueless idiot that just listens to iPod. How would they know. .

Gives them cause to stop the riff raff. If you're not looting they will just tell you to go home.

Trust me, the last thing a soaking arse wet police officer is gonna give a frick about right now is a dumbass wanting to go drive in pitch black with trees everywhere.

I know what the law says, but reason needs to play a role too.

You can't just say something and expect 100% to hear it within an hour.

You can't expect it on a normal day, and you sure as shite can't expect it during a storm.

A noon announcement is more understandable....give the info time to filter out.

I doubt the courts will be lenient on these curfew violations unless you have some extraordinary excuse like you were rescuing drowning babies or something.

I'm sure they didn't expect 100% of people to hear it which is why they are going to tell you to get your arse home when they see you and nobody gets thrown in jail for violating curfew during the storm unless you are an a-hole.

An explanation to police will suffice. If you're up to no good, you goin to jail.

I drove to work this morning at 4:00 from Baton Rouge and passed by two cops. Neither of them pulled me over.

To me, it's an obvious statement that says our cops are overworked and few and far between as far as quality (hell, one of 'em stole an Iphone and was too stupid to do it correctly). It's a bluff...last thing we need are BR's finest to have to deal with ordinary BR criminal stuff.

Basically, we are trying to discourage criminals on a night where anyone can get away with anything non-Isaac related. If I was young black male, tonight would be THE night I went out and took revenge out on Pookie and Marquis for what they did to LaJohnny and JaCarlos.

Someone that works for me was told to turn around and go home when he was coming to our shop to get ice.
