Will a roofer re-seal shingle tabs that were lifted?

Hurricane Ida caused my shingles to lift and they have not resealed. My insurance, who I think is playing games, is giving me 900 dollars to have these shingles resealed.
The roof inspector mentioned that there was debris underneath these shingles that were found to be lifted.
Am I being played?

My neighbor never lost a shingle during Ida, but from inspection, his roof was damaged like yours (flapping shingles). His insurance is covering the cost to replace the entire roof.

im told if its small areas then it "could" re-stick after some hot summer baking it back together, but chances are by then, its gonna start breaking off and tearing shingles so sounds like you will need a new roof
black adhesive (its basically liquid tar in a caulking tube) can be added to re-glue them back in place, but i wouldnt allow that for my roof. maybe if it was a garage or a garden shed but not for a house

Yeah, these shingles that were lifted were found weeks after the storm, and we have had plenty of hot days.

What company?
Yeah that sucks, I had minimal damage, missing 15-20 shingles and am getting a full replacement.

What's crazy is now they won't share the findings of the inspection report. I ask to see the report, and they are saying that they will not let me see it.
Keep in mind, I had water damage to 4 rooms in my home.
should I lawyer up?

You have a terrible insurance company

Get a public adjuster involved.

I had a buddy going through the same thing. He called me. I got involved. He’s now getting a full replacement. I’d love to help you out.

Lowe’s carries a product call Black Jack roofing cement. Get you a caulk gun and Couple tubes it works great. You may need to put weight to hold the shingle down until it dries in some areas

You should at minimum get with a reputable roofing company that does inspections and have them inspect it. If you had 4 rooms with water damage id say you need a new roof.

Update:
I filed a complaint with the Louisiana insurance commissioner yesterday morning. At 6 pm, I received a call from my desk adjuster's supervisor telling me that they are now recommending a full roof replacement.

My insurance wanted me to repair my roof. I told them that no roofing company recommended a repair due to the age of roof (2008) and cat 4 winds. They’re paying for a whole roof.
My issue was the adjuster measured my house at 37 squares and every company measured 54 squares. So I had a second adjuster come measure and he got 54. So should be ready to replace it soon.
