Have I reached my peak getting excited about a rake. That’s nice. I usually just buy the wood handle ones and throw away after a couple years.

I have 4 rakes. Not sure why, but I do. Every single one of them is 10+ years old. I'm not sure what you are raking, but it must be some bad arse shite.

I use it to dethatch patches in my zoysia. So I dig pretty hard. Just bought a sun joe electric dethatcher so I won’t need to rake anymore

True, but some of those cheap rakes have some crappy, thin wooden handles. They dry out and snap like a twig with a little force. Maybe people break cheap rakes by trying to dethatch and using extra force.

Edit:

Yeah, I've broken rakes doing this.

Got the Bully garden rake as recommended. Fine tool, craftsmanship so fine it almost reminds me of Faberge, truly a tool worthy of kings

I have the same one. You won't break it unless you are a gorilla and even then I have my doubts.

You've obviously never seen a gorilla rake a garden. Savage frickers, they are.
