Who does everyone use for gutters on your house?

Also, is it normal to just put them in a couple spots like where rain dumps off by the front door and on the back patio? Or do you need to go all the way around?

I never put them on mine because they cost an assload. Just put some flagstone where the gulleys dump off the roof.

Most builders of non starter homes in Houston put them in the front and the back only, depending on the config of the roof. I think they're mostly there to reduce damage to landscaping and pitting of ground soil. You can also identify heavy runoff areas and dump river rock there to prevent erosion, etc.
I do have one friend that because of roof config, desperately needs them to transfer water away from the side of his house that gets very little sun, because it's a swamp when it rains.

I put gutters on the front.
Put gutters on carport at rear side of house.
For backyard the patio has gutters i tied underground to my catch basins in the yard.
Neighbor side I have no gutters
I did it through home depot 10 years ago with what ever contractor they used.
Got a good price and they survived Hurricane Ida no problem while the roof did not.

American Gutter and Awning in Lafayette.
Veteran owned and a great guy. Was about $7/ft and $100/downspout. I did front and my back patio and it was around $1600 if I remember right. Guy was done in just a couple of hours.

Gutters are great, but be prepared to clean them twice per year.....if you do that, they are a serious benefit.
If you neglect the cleaning, you will have problems.
Mid City Roofing (BR) did mine....

For many homes roof runoff is the largest source of water to the lot. If it does not drain quickly away from the house, you need gutters and possibly buried drains in the wet areas. A new house may have great drainage that gets bad after a few decades due to settling, foundation plantings, trees, and things your neighbors do. I had gutters installed on wet sides by Premiere South and drains installed by Samson Services. Both are BTR area.

Your house, put gutters wherever you want. You could also just put a deflector on your roof that nails down under the shingles near the eave to guide the water away from the area of the front door.
Look it up on u-tube to get an idea of what I'm talking about.
