Whirlpool side by side not dispensing water into ice tray but water dispenser works

As title says, I am not getting the ice tray to fill with water and the arm will not fall down. I am getting water out of the main water dispenser though. Could possibly be a bad solenoid? Can't imagine it being a frozen water line if I have a working water dispenser.
Sadly, this is the 2nd replacement icemaker part I've order in less than a year. Cannot remember the exact model but I can update it later. This is the exact one below in the photo (comes with a Measured Fill option):

Force cycle on your icemaker. (Look up on YouTube)
Listen for the solenoid to engage.
Yes the line to the icemaker can freeze up and it's totally independent of the dispenser line.
Could be a bad solenoid.
Could be a bad icemaker. It's one of those 3 things but unfortunately it can't be diagnosed without actually testing the icemaker functions.
Bring a whirlpool the most common icemakers you jump the H and T pins on the front(under the cover) to cycle.
You can visually check for ice build up in the fill line.
Solenoid failure is most common issue.

I've done the defrost cycle several times so no luck there.

Water line runs underneath the fridge and up the door. I will probably take it apart again and see if I can find the correct line. the actual water line in the ice maker itself is empty.

That's why I'm leaning towards solenoid. I can't hear anything other than the entire fridge starting back up.

Not defrost. Ice maker cycle.
Nothing to do with defrost

I dint have enough info to know if the water line going up the door is relevant.
Is the icemaker in the door or at the top of the freezer?

Stupid question, but is there ice in the tray?
Usually mine gets stuck. Turn power off to the ice maker, turn it back on l, and hold the reset button until it dumps the ice.
Also make sure your temp is cold enough. It's not <20 degrees in the freezer it won't dump ice.

If by that you mean where the arm lowers and raises and the ice tray turns over, then yes I've done that several times.

There's no water going into the ice tray. The actual ice maker isn't doing anything at this point. Past problems that we've replaced the ice maker for only involved the tray getting locked up because of the shitty plastic gears wearing out.

No help here, or WP ice maker is a bitch too. Been flipping the breaker when it acts up. Sounds like you are ahead of that with understanding how it works (or doesn’t).

Had the same issue with the same side by side whirlpool...
Check the wiring harness that runs from the fridge body into the door. You'll have to take the panel off at the front bottom of the fridge.
My wires were cut from rubbing on the cover panel lip when opening the freezer.
I spliced it all back together and it worked.

I heard that might be an issue as well. I'll probably give that a shot next.

No wires messed up. The last thing I've found is that the shut off arm will not come down at all. I can't move it from the up position, which probably explains why it isn't getting fed water to the tray.

Oh it's a tray type not a finger type.
Bad icemaker. Buy on Amazon they are cheaper.

Not to thread hijack but...Napoleon, I need advice too.
My old ice maker broke. As far as I can tell it was the shutoff arm's internal witch or contact that wasn't working so it seemed like a full replacement was necessary.
replacement icemaker
But now with the new icemaker installed the cubes have about a quarter inch thick sheet of ice that connects them all together in a big Lego block.
It's as if the tray is a little shallow compared to the original tray. Not enough for it to overflow when filling but enough to make a Lego ice block.
Is there a way to lower the fill time? Years ago I had a fridge with a screw that could be turned to adjust the fill time but I can't find anything like that on this fridge and I can't find any information online about how to do that for this particular model ( Whirlpool WRS325SDHZ08)

Hardly any cheaper than I can find from replacement parts sites. Looking at $70-80 at best for the ice maker.
Do yall have recommendations on countertop ice makers?

I have the same fridge freezer combo and my ice maker won’t dispense. It will make ice, but the auger is not turning. I figure I need a new auger, but glad to know I’m not alone in my frustration!

There is no screw to adjust on this one. I don't see a diagnostic setting for it either.
It's overfilling the tray or filling to the very top?

Basically filling to the very top of the tray so there's a thick sheet of ice connecting all the cubes together.

Wouldn't happen to have changed water filter lately huh? Sometimes replacement water filters cause a pressure loss to ice maker but not dispenser. I found out the hard way
