Which Washer/Dryer Combo Would You Choose?

I can't decide between the Maytag or Speed Queen (2019 model). Here is the comparison:
The Maytag out performs the SQ in getting clothes clean, but doesn't have the reliability of the SQ. I currently have a set of Whirlpools from 2004 that I'm ready to replace due to various issues. I looked at both sets, read reviews, and watched videos on them but still can't make a decision. Even though the Maytag cleans better, my concern is the use of plastic parts in certain areas that will fail at some point. Is the extra money up front going to save me time in the end?
Maytag Washer: MVWP575GW $870
Speed Queen Washer: TC5000WN $1029
Maytag Dryer: MEDP575GW $869
Speed Queen Dryer: DC5000WE $949
Maytag Set: $1739
Speed Queen Set: $1978
Difference: $239

The way that models are changing so quickly now, it’s really hard to predict the outcome with new models.
My wife and I bought a Maytag washer/drier set in 1992 and they are still going. Not many bells and whistles. They were a set a woman returned because she did not like the color after she put it in her house. Paid $750 for the pair and have repaired a couple of things on them in the last 27 years, spent less than $1000 total in 27 years and some of that was the repairman cost if I was unable or unwilling to work on it myself.
27 years and still going for a total cost of ownership under $2000, in 2019 dollars that’s under $2700. Not sure that’s what you would get with the modern Maytag. If Napoleon chimes in, heed his advice. I think SQ has lost a bit of luster in the last couple of years.

I didn't have much choice due to width in the laundry room: remodel house or choose between 2 crappy manufacturers or the 1 decent...in 27". Side by side leaves exactly 1".
How're the taxes in your area too? Buying local or online? 10% sales tax makes the difference in price 10% larger too.

Apparently they felt the backlash and went back to the old design as of May 2019. Look up model number TC5000WN (part number AWN632SP116TW01). I really enjoy my 2017. It’s the 2018s that didn’t perform as well.

That’s my intent as well, particularly when I learned that Speed Queen has re-designed their 2019 model to be more like their “older” models. 2018 models seem to have issues.

I've got a 2017 SQ. It's great.
