What's a reasonable price to get a roof replaced in the BR area?

2000 sq ft house. I know there are probably a lot of variables, just looking for ballpark estimate using reasonably priced but decent shingles.

Are you in dire need? I would wait until a major storm helps you out.

Lots of people are being given letters to replace or face being dropped.

This is news to me. Are insurance companies going out and sending people to inspect roofs?

Roofing cant be calculated by the interior square feet. Our house is 2230 and our new roof was under $12K replaced in March 2023. We have an incredibly simple low pitched roof. A house smaller than ours with a different roof setup will likely cost more than ours. I would imagine you would just need to get some quotes to find out. We used Premier South FWIW, and it was a fantastic experience all around.

We’re in the Lafayette area but we had ours done over the summer. 2300 sq Ft house plus a small pool house.
$16,500. Owens Corning 30year architectural is what we put.
Idk how to describe out house other than sort of Acadian style but has some variations to the roof lines.

Use referral whoever you use. Don’t just use someone you hear on the radio or see in tv. Talk to people you trust and see who they’ve used. I suggest Tri21 Roofing

I’m out of town but will get back to you. It was actually my husbands college classmate Chris Cao. He’s got several roofing crews. We did it in early July and it was hotter than hell.
It took them four days by their own choice. Didn’t bother me. They were nice, spoke little English and cleaned up well.
I’ll be back with info.

Based on 2,000 sf house plus garage and add for the roof pitch most likely you are around 32-36 sq’s. That being said assuming it isn’t stupid steep etc you are probably looking anywhere from $15,000-$18,000 as a good ballpark. If you are just trying to get a price that can be done with simply providing someone an address. Street view to be able to see the roof style/ pitch etc and then we use a program to measure based on satellite image.

Chris Cao Construction is who did ours — we were satisfied.
