It definitely just had a meal and decided to hole up in a decorative birdhouse on a table by the chairs to sleep it off. I relocated the birdhouse and snake under a tree for the night. That was the easiest relocation I've ever had.

It is a chicken snake, or gray rat snake if you're being proper. Despite protests from others involved, it is not a GDCK.

any advice on how to coax a nice big rat snake out of the walls of my house?

saw a 5-6' slither into a crack in the house (next to dryer vent) and my wife is not loving it

what the hell.

Got home from work a couple months back and was on a conference call leaning on a ledge overlooking my kitchen and sure enough, I see a little GDCK slithering across my floor. Well, it's a rarity to see a snake IN your house. Was able to catch it and tossed it back outside. Come to find out, my dog brought it in as a gift. So nice of her.

Thankfully it was an earth snek and not something more sinister.

I have the darker, hilljack version of these around my place. A few weeks ago, when they emerged, one showed up on the upper rail of the garage door. I guess it was climbing the door when I opened it. I used a boat paddle to knock it down and shew it away. I knew if I used a hoe, I'd get mad and kill it. I need them to help keep the glam rats down.

we leave our doors open a lot when it’s warm I had a 5’ king snake in my fireplace that would drape himself over the brick hearth. Took forever to catch him

wife not happy

Couple of weeks ago I was working on planting sunflowers in one of my fields for dove season this year. I was finished with the disk and had it back at the shed and was about to switch to the spreader.

I jumped out of the tractor walked to the back and reached for the quick disconnect and a snake is sitting there on it starring at me.

Initially scared the crap out of me. Apparently had been up in my tractor somewhere and had been enjoying the ride that whole time.

I left it alone and ran to get more fuel and some food. It was gone when I got back.

Yeah, I don't bother them usually. I just let them go on their own because if they musk it can be a terrible smell. When this one made it's way into the birdhouse I took the opportunity to move house and all out under a tree. It was gone in the morning.

I would still be talking with the fire department if my wife saw that on our porch.
