Has anybody used them before? We currently use ADT and they are offering a decent package for the same price.

There’s a ton of complaints about Vivint as well as some super satisfied customers. It’s a very weird dynamic.
Most complaints seem centered around their marketing tactics and contracts. Based on what I’ve heard, I’d steer clear of them.

We have them. We bought a house 3 months ago and the system and cameras were already installed. Can lock/unlock all doors and change the thermostat via the app. Been happy so far for $49/month with no contract.

Just note that there are easy DIY security systems, both professionally monitored and not, that are much cheaper
I have Frontpoint. It’s $49/month full monitoring with Ring like doorbell cameras, etc
That’s not on the cheap end, but their equipment only cost several hundred dollars, once they gave me a decent discount

contract is terrible.. I'm paying on one where I'm not even using the service.. i can't get out of it.

Their salesmen are the worst.
We had one come to my neighborhood several years ago and the guy basically camped out in his car in the neighborhood for 5 days. After the 3rd or 4th time of him coming to my house, I lost it on the guy to the point of the sheriff coming to my house.
I explained what was happening and he was basically like, “yeah, I’d have done the same thing”.

Pretty strange company. Didn’t have the worst experience but can’t say I recommend them

Same. Bought a house with everything already installed. We just pay $45 a month. I like it.

Stay the frick away. They pay for reviews. I bought a house with it already installed and they tried charging me 2 grand for new equipment. They are essentially a scam with equipment. You can’t cancel. I barely got out of it.

They tried to do the same to me but a little forceful action on my part along with getting them to sign a month to month contract and everything's been great since.

Worst company I've dealt with in my life possibly. I sold my house and still couldn't get out of the contract. I was living with my mom while I saved and built a new home.
I even tried telling them I died and couldn't get out of the contract.

Ring is $100 a year for monitoring and unlimited camera recording. They offer wireless contact sensors and motion sensors as well as smoke alarms and leak detectors. DIY install.

I literally just had a Vivint rep show up at my door 20 minutes ago trying to get me to switch from ADT. Funny thing is, he's the same guy who sold me my ADT setup. Ironically, I read this thread 10 minutes before he got here, told him I'd get back to him if interested. Kind of odd for someone to make a sales call this late
