The MSM did a good number on my VBW, but didn’t really touch the spurge, and that shite is everywhere. Suggestions?

Spurge is becoming resistant to herbicides. Mainly prostrate spurge. Try Celsius. If that doesn't work try Celsius and MSM together.

Mature spurge is more difficult to control than young plants. You could purchase Celsius, $105 per bottle at Site One if you are near Baton Rouge or Covington/Mandeville, but a bottle should last 4 to 5 years, so prorated, $20-25 per year, and it’s an excellent herbicide for numerous difficult to control lawn weeds.
You could also mix a trimec or weed-free-zone herbicide with MSM, + surfactant, to see if that might work. Do you use pre-emergent herbicides in the lawn. If not, sounds like you need to. I’ve always had a iittle spurge in the lawn but I have seen more this year than in years past.

Which pre emergent to use and when to put down?

Either Prodiamine (spray or granular) or Dimension (dithiopyr; granular). Spray Prodiamine is cheaper per 1000 sq ft of lawn.
When to apply, South LA
Fall - late September/early Oct, but you still have time to apply if you can do it ASAP.
Late Winter - by mid-February

From the knowledge gained on here and talking to the older gentleman at Clegg’s in Central I got my preemergent and winterizer down a few weeks ago. I’ll hit Site One and get some Celcius next week. Really appreciate this forum and our experts.

Just to follow up on buttonweed that I've been dealing with. I go out once per week with a spray bottle and msm turf and spot spray. The amount I am finding is less and less each week.

Don’t use Celsius at this point. Too cool for it to be effective. This time of year I switch to tripower.

Is that just for temperature when applying? I put some down a week ago when it was 85. Will this cooler weather diminish my results or am I ok because it was hotter then?

You will be ok. Soil temps are probably pretty cool but I’d except weed death, even if slower than normal

So this Celsius stuff...$140 on Amazon for 10 oz. is that right?

I usually pick a 5 gallon bucket of it before cutting grass.

If you live in the Baton Rouge or Mandeville area it’s $104 at Site One Landscape Supply.

You use a teaspoon of it per gallon of water. You get your money's worth, trust me.

Actually that's a good price. There's alot more expensive chemicals you will more than likely purchase
