I’m thinking about a bad boy avenger 60 or zt elite 60. I don’t really want to go through the process of listing and trying to sell my current gravely. Would rather just trade it in.

ETA ended up selling my gravely online in less than an hour. So I really need to decided what I’ll be buying. Will be cutting 2 acres looking for 54 or 60. Trying to stay under 5k.

Almost none. I tried.

List it on FB Marketplace. If you take good pictures, give a good description, and priced fair, it will sell in a week or two.

I know Gautreaux’s does because they list them for sale on Facebook. Might only be from fleet buyers though.

Lol it’s a 2013 zt42 with the 23 hp kawi. Not quite up to what the OBs standards are.

My brother in law bought a Bad Boy a year or two ago.

He had issues with it throwing belts. I think they finally got it resolved by changing spindles and a factory retrofit of some sort.

I picked up a Gravely ProTurn 48 last year (slightly used) with that 23 HP Kawasaki. Then installed mulching blades. Really enjoy it.

FB Marketplace if you don't sell it elsewhere.

I’ve really loved my gravely, I just need bigger now with 2 acres to mow. I’d get the hd60, but they are 1k more than the bad boy avenger and I just don’t know If I can swing it.

Badboy owner here. If you mowing 2 acres I would. Recommend you get either a different brand or You can try to upgrade the seat. The ride is pretty rough on my zt elite 48. I have the 2020 model as well. Look at a Ferris or something they may have a better ride

Thanks. I’m not fully sold on the bad boy, just the mower I was considering the heaviest. I’ll check out the Ferris. Thanks for the advice.

Southland Engine in Lafayette does trade ins. But one of the guys over there told me straight up “you’d be better off selling it.”

When I was buying my Gravely, I was looking at the 48, 52, and 60. The dealer said the 52 at the time had the best blade configuration. Said the 48 and 60 didn't have as good of a overlap in the blade deck configuration so it was easier to miss stubborn strings of grass between blades at times.

Just a point of something to consider when looking for a mower. I would have never thought of it.

very interesting. tbh my biggest concern isn't necessarily the width, as the speed and the comfort. my zt42 just isn't rugged enough for my new house/land. i need some bigger wider tires, and a better seat. im just not sure going from 48 to 52 is enough of a difference in size, idk what idk tho

I was going to say this. The issue with trade in is that they have to turn around and sell it, for a profit. So they are going to offer you likely $500-1000 less than what they can sell it for.

Selling is a PITA if you want the best market price. But selling is easy as hell if you are willing to take a lower ball offer. Just list it for $250-500 less than you think its worth and I bet it sells quick and easy.

Ivy’s Lawn Mower Supply in Baton Rouge takes trades. I’ve traded a mower and edger towards a new zero turn.

I would not buy a Bad Boy. They throw belts as someone else has pointed out. It's also owned by a private equity outfit now and they are squeezing every penny out of the company. Quality has gone down from what I've been told.

hijacking-

no exmark love? I'm cutting 4-5 acres and will be looking to buy something else soon.

Any Ferris owners here with the suspensions?

I think the two original owners of bad boy split and one started spartan. That could be message board rumor though
