I’ve been covering my younger citrus trees during this cold snap and so far only have 2 that have shriveled leaves.
Question 1- will the shriveled trees come back?
Question 2 - I will be out of town today and won’t be able to uncover them and recover them for tonight. Will they be OK covered until Sunday later morning or should I ask my brother/neighbor to uncover and recover for me?

TIA

Mine are covered and will be wilted when I uncover them tomorrow. They should be fine.

Are you uncovering them every day then covering again at night? Just curious if it's harmful to leave it covered for a few days.

I think there has been times I have left my trees covered for as much as a week, and did not see any harm to the trees.

I left mine covered for the duration and only uncovered Sunday due to the forecast. On the less cold nights during this stretch, I turned off the Christmas lights.

Uncovered mine today. It looks ok. Not sure if there is a limit. Used some sort of zip up covers I bought on Amazon. Worked pretty well.

I use these as well along with a heat lamp. Just uncovered them today after about 2 weeks. They look fine. Did the same thing last year.

Uncovered mine and they are wilted and look terrible. I had them wrapped with beach towels and drop cloths. I’ll order some of the covers in amazon for next year. Unless the trees are just taking a break, I’ll be replanting soon. They were all planted last year so they were young. My 10 yo satsuma was not covered but seems to be OK.

Mine was small enough that a large trash can fit over it. I then covered the trash can with an outdoor chair cover that's pretty heavy. I think the leaves not touching much inside there was pretty important, as my little tree looks no different now than before the freeze.

My meyer lemon was planted 4 months ago. Covered it with a tarp with a can light and 150w light bulb for 3 days when temps got down to 19. Took the tarp off and it lost some leaves, and the rest of the leaves look like they took a hit. It looks like where I lost leaves is where they were touching the tarp. Should bounce back.
