Truck horn doesn’t work 95% of the time

I wouldn’t think it’s the fuse because it works sometimes. Also, upon research, it doesn’t seem to be the clock spring because nothing else has stopped working, just the horn. Any ideas what could be my issue?

Check the relay. You can pull a same size relay from something else in the box and replace it and see if it fixes the issue. If it does fix it then its the relay. If it doesn't, well at least you didn't have to spend extra money on a relay.
It could also be a lose connection to the horn, or one of your two horns could just be completely shot.

It sure sounds a lot like a clock spring to me but could be almost anything. The momentary switches(relay and steering wheel button) would be my second guess. Fortunately, testing switches doesn’t require buying parts.
You can always just rig one up if your state still has safety inspections.

Everything I’ve read about clock springs mention that your radio buttons won’t work either.
ETA: the horn works because I just tested it with the panic button on my fob. So I guess this leans towards the clock spring after all.

2nd the relay. Had to to replace the horn relay twice on my mom's car.

It very well could be this, it happened to me. My horn went out and I ordered a new one. After looking at youtube to change it, I didn't feel like removing whole bunch of other stuff just to access the horn. So, I climbed under the truck to see if I could reach it without removing the fan shroud. I was able to grab the connector and when I wiggled it, it snapped back in. The horn has been working fine since.

Relay would be the first thing I’d check.

Does the horn identify as a female?
