Too Early To Fertilize?

Up in North LA and my centipede is completely green and been mowed two or three times and my zoysia is about 75% green and mowed once. I know LSU says wait until mid April for up here but there looks to be no freeze coming in the extended forecast. Has anyone thrown down yet?

I’m waiting another 2 weeks but I haven’t even had my first “real” cut yet.

Where are you located? My centipede has exploded the past few weeks.

Baton Rouge. It’s about ready for a cut now though.

I was told to fertilize after your second cut.

I’m in Madisonville and Mine still isn’t really ready to cut yet. I think in about a week or so it may be ready for first cut. Should i wait until after the 2nd cut, or just fertilize in 2ish weeks anyway?

Pay your taxes and fertilizer your lawn on the same weekend is a good rule of thumb.

Anytime in the first couple weeks of April is fine - always good if you can time it just before a rain to water it in.
