Does anyone else notice that when you buy bonnie pepper plants
Maybe it's the ruralness of big city Cullman but they sell mix matched 2,3 and 4 packs by the tray for 13.00
or the single 3-4 packs for 1.25... and if not I'll go with seed for anything really particular.

The whole neighborhood.
I actually saw a honey bee in the clover in my front yard. I have no way of knowing if it was one of mine, though.

Wife asked to see if we had any new potatoes to go in the green beans. We had one potato plant looking droopy. Figured the seed potato got too wet. Dug up 6 red lasoda potatoes including 2 about the size of my fist.

Any guesses on what kind of pepper I have here? I’m supposed to have early jalapeños, cayenne, and bell peppers. Which I have all of those.
But this one single guy popped up and I’m at a loss haha

Taste it. Is it mild or hot?
I have no clue, but that may help narrow it down.

Yea I’m guessing the hormones. My seed starts always do way better. But bonnie sure makes em look pretty as young seedlings, makes sense.
I only buy bonnie when i go to store and can’t help myself but to buy more plants.

Cubanelle? No heat but great flavor?
Posted on 5/16/21 at 9:41 pm to Mr Sausage
I wouldn’t say great. It was pretty bitter.

Anyone dealt with Bacteria Leaf spot? I thought my bell pepper leaves were yellowing because of nutrients. Now it’s obvious it’s bacteria leaf spot. I treated with copper fungicide yesterday. The more I read, the more I’m worried it spreads to my tomatoes. Should I just pull up the infected plant to prevent spread vs trying to save it?
Edit: I see Pillage has some good info in the OP about hydrogen peroxide.

Peroxide will definitely help. But I’d keep treating with copper too. Liquid copper is very good against leaf spot.
Caught a slight break in the rain this evening and went check on the garden. Here come the cucumbers. I picked only a few, but the plants are loaded up and I’ll probably be picking every day this week.

Do you pickle most of your cucumbers?
Posted on 5/17/21 at 9:28 pm to DumpsterFire
Yeah, most of them. I made so many jars last year that I still have 3 left. I’ll probably gift those to coworkers before I start making fresh pickles. I don’t remember the last time I bought a jar of pickles from the store.
We ate a couple of them tonight with some salad. Also had some of the Roma’s from the garden in there. I do try to incorporate some fresh cucumbers with meals and/or as a healthy snack. So not all of them end up in salt and vinegar.

I picked my biggest two tomatoes thus far this year. I'm also starting to pick ripened peppers pretty consistently. These are islanders. I'm glad to have picked these because the plants are looking a bit unhealthy. I think it's because of how small they are as compared to how many peppers they're holding. I think I posted this before, but I normally pull off the first couple of flowers on my peppers. I didn't do that this year. I definitely got peppers earlier this year, but the plants are significantly smaller (like 1/2 the size) with less leaves and I lost one to some weird wilt. I think next year I'll probably do half and half.
Both of the big tomatoes are Fred's Tie Dye. It looks like I have one more on the vine that might be closer to 20 ounces. I think the biggest one I got last year was like 24 ounces, but I don't have anything that looks close to that this year. Weird how that works.

My tomatoes took a little beating last night with all the wind and rain. I should be ok with a few stems kinked right ?
By the way Moon, those tomatoes look delicious and im jealous

For sure. One of my dwarf plants has two broken stems that are attached by like 25% of their original width. The fruits on them are ripening fine.
