I’m contemplating buying a table saw for small, light use projects around the house. Probably will only use it 2-3 times per year.

What’s the cheapest table saw that isn’t junk?

Let me rephrase since you’ve interpreted cheap in terms of quality and not price

quote:

What’s the least expensive table saw that isn’t junk?

I have the rigid folding table saw at Home Depot and it’s been great. The folding feature really saves space and makes it easy to get in and out.

Buy used. Sold my rigid table saw for $200 when I upgraded to a cabinet saw a few years ago.

Rigid, desalt, Bosch will all be pretty good. Take the time to get it set up right. Search YouTube for table saw setup by the wood whisperer.

I have this one:

Lowe’s often puts it on sale, so keep an eye out for a better deal on it. It doesn’t what I need it to do

do yourself a favor and check facebook marketplace for a used one

most of them are good for what you are looking for but when buying check it has all tha atachments and blade changing tools and to see how secure the fence is, if the fence doesnt stay secure and seems easy to wiggle or shift its setting then dont buy it. the fence is THE critical part to getting straight accurate cuts

you can find good used table saws selling for $100 so no need to buy a new one

If you can't find a decent used one I would recommend this Dewalt. I bought mine a few years ago and it comes in very handy.

Though I don’t own this Dewalt, I have a woodworking friend that owns one, and he speaks very highly of it.

I have that saw and it's a great one. The newer version has wider ripping capacity and a higher RPM motor but if you are cutting sheet stock then you'll want to use a circular saw with a ripping guide anyway. The pinion rack guide is solid and once dialed in, with a good ripping blade, will cut very precisely. Mine will rip hardwoods within 0.002", good enough for anything you'll ever need to do with a jobsite saw. Don't plan on running dado blades though, the arbor doesn't have the capacity.

I have this Kobalt saw too. Takes a little time to set it up out of the box to make sure the blade is truly perpendicular to the table and parallel to the miter slots, but you should expect to check and tweak that on any new saw. It's a decent saw once it's set up.

I see Lowe's in BR has it at $299 right now. I got mine around Black Friday a couple years ago for $189. It does go on sale pretty often.

I have the Skil jobsite saw. The legs fold up and it's pretty compact. I think it's around $200 at HD. I like it because it's extremely easy to move around.

Kobalt KT1015

I have that one as well. It has been a great little saw.
FYI, the Delta 36-6022 accessories fit this saw since it is essentially the same saw with a slightly better rip fence(the Delta saw). Delta makes an upgraded miter gage that will fit this saw. There is also a complete fence rail upgrade available. Though, I will probably just buy a good cabinet saw if I want to upgrade. It will take up to a 3/4" dado stack as well.
