Run the echo 2620T, it's the high torque model. We run the 3020t units. Been really good and dependable. They are commercially used everyday

I've been having an SRM 225 for 11 years, no complaints and still runs great

I have both Stihl and Echo. Both are fantastic.

Go with the echo 2620, it’s almost the same as a shindaiwa t262 and is infinitely more ergonomic than the stihls as well as much much faster cutting.

Ive got Stihl and Echo equipment. I really prefer my echo stuff! I have a 2620 it is really powerful! Echo is cheaper and more reliable IMO

I've used a Stihl 100rx for 15 trouble free years. Its been a great machine.

I have 4 acres also and I have the Echo PAS power head with various attachments. I’ve had it for 6 years with no complaints.

Redmax or shindaiwa. Stihl isn’t what it used to be.

With that much acreage do yourself a favor and buy a commercial trimmer. Yes it will cost more, but you can beat quality.
I’ve bought echo, shindiawa, some Italian brand and Mauryama. Without a doubt, the Mauryama has outlasted and out performed all of them. I also priced it against a Stihl. I paid the same amount but would have had to pay another $50 for the speed feed head on the sthil.
Your mileage may vary.

Another rec for the Stihl Kombi head. I have two units and they are built to last. I have the weed eater, pole saw, and hedger attachments. Solid equipment.

Could say the same for Echo ever since they were merged with Shindaiwa from the Kioritz company to become Yamabiko Corp. My Kioritz Echo hedge trimmer is pushing 20 years old and still runs like new, my Kioritz Echo PB-200 blower lasted 15+ years. My newer PB-250LN is a great blower now but needed some carb tuning on my end and doesn't have the solid build quality of my older Echos. I have two Stihl Kombi units and two Stihl chainsaws and they've all been flawless performers.
All that said, quality of fuel and maintenance means more than brand names as far as longevity once you get into pro-sumer and commercial-grade equipment.
Except for Efco, don't buy Italian yard gear...

Have been using a Stihl for a couple of years now and no issues.
Posted on 3/28/22 at 3:19 pm to Clames
It was Efco. Lasted a year with almost daily usage.

I rented an Efco chainsaw years ago from the BAFB MWR, maybe it was a dud but was heavy and slow cutting with a brand new Oregon chain on it. Local shop carries a few Efco products but it seems mostly the battery-powered stuff.

Any or all of those machines would give many years of service as long as you keep fresh fuel in them and dump the tank and run it dry on the last cut of the season. 4 acres is a hell of a lot of land…I don’t suspect you will be doing a lot of string trimming over the]at entire property.
