This crap is all over my yard. Sedge hammer knocks it out about 10 days after I spray it, but there is just so much of it and it's sort of random.

Why would it be so bad this year but not 2022 or 2023?

It seemed worse for me last year, but I think that was because my grass was so brown from the drought that it was easier to spot.

I would love someone to shed light on this, but it seems that everything wants to grow this year.

- My St. Aug was going to seed (never seen that before).
- Ash trees near the house have been dropping seeds in clumps all year long.
- My yews have had "fruit" for the first time ever and there was a ton of it.

Could it be the same with weeds? Is it just cyclical?

That's got to be Zoysia right? Looks nice.

I have fought more dove weed this year than my entire life combined.

Nutsedge thrives in wet conditions, so does Doveweed, lot more rainfall this summer compared to the drought of last year.

I feel like I see nutsedge all over the place. I’ve been able to keep it at bay with sedgehammer+ but I’ll be damned if VBW hasn’t popped back up lately with avengance. Was able to spray it good a week or two ago now but it sure as hell seemed to come out of nowhere again

Someone on here recommended Vexis for sedge. I’ve done two applications (one bag) and am cautiously optimistic. Will try to remember to report back after another week or two.

My St. Aug has shot up seed heads every year since I moved into the house in 2020. I did some research a while back and never really found any conclusive reason for this. I did a soil test and amended soil based on results but it never made a difference. Would love if someone had any ideas on this because 1. it's ugly and 2. the seed heads dull my mower blades way quicker than regular grass.
