Is it snake oil or does it work? I’m talking humic, seaweed, biochar, baby soap, etc. I bought a bottle of the simple lawn solutions humic fulvic seaweed blend a few weeks ago and it may be my imagination but some of the thin spots in my lawn have started to fill in a bit.

I see people pimping the nxt bio-stimulant products all over Facebook and it seems interesting but part of me wonders if it isnt a fricking pyramid scheme for men like beauty products for women

Yes I believe it works but people are selling 88% water to you for the most part. Humic12, is what I'm talking about. Go to kelp4less and buy the cheaper dry product and mix it in hot water to make your own amendments

I core areated a few weeks ago and added 3 bags of lesco carbon pro g. Basically its humic acid, biochar and compost with other additives. I think Im going to use cx diy fertilizer from now on instead of just straight nitrogen. It has biochar and iron in it. Its not all organic but has soil additives. Most lawns really need more organic matter. Or i may use pro-peat. Either way im gonna keep areating and using carbon pro g to help get organic matter built up

Simple lawn solutions is highly regarded. It should help for sure. I wanted to try lawn energizer and lawn stress

Can you find, via internet search, any land-grant university in the 50 USA states recommending these products in their extension literature for lawn management and care, based on peer reviewed, unbiased field research trials? Do any of the companies that manufacturer and sell these products provide or reference that type research information on their websites? That might be the answer to your question.

Best I can say probably none of those products will hurt anything when used on the lawn unless used in excess, and they are probably too expensive to be used in excess. But there is nothing wrong with giving them a try if you so desire.

I’ve tried and only came up with a few. They mainly said it may help.....probably won’t hurt.

Except one from Texas A&M that said it may have adverse effects on the potency of herbicides and pesticides. Although they did admit the sample size was only 2 studies.

These companies are making a killing right now with everyone like me bored looking to frick with my yard

Everyone that I’ve seen that uses these products have amazing lawns. I bought the bio stim pack last year along with carbon x and I just finished the last of those last month. This year I put down xsoil and bought the 2.5 gallon jugs of rgs and humic12 and will also pick up the new BaIX fert to try. I also ordered some turf fuel iron blade to replace 6-0-0 feature since it’s hard to find now. I like ready to spray products instead of mixing my own so it’s worth the few extra bucks to me.

As for price the bio stim pack is $26 a gallon and spoon feeding 3oz per 1k it lasts a long time. Shipped to your door it’s not a bad deal. Same with the granular products, at app rate it’s cheaper than buying say milorganite and also cheaper than most other fert at a big box store. Even if it’s a few dollars more I feel it’s worth it for the biochar, peptides, Humic etc.

I mow with a Swardman and use these products and constantly have people stopping me asking about my lawn. It’s become a fun hobby for me and the results speak for themselves.

Yes but the liquids that I use have little to no NPK and that’s where I like to use granular.
