Shout out to Weber Grills customer service

Have a 14 year old Summit natural gas grill that was beginning to have issues. I've been lighting the burners manually because the igniters don't always work. I took it all apart and realized that the support arms which hold the igniters for the burner were rusted out so there was no contact left to provide the spark. They are all part of the gas manifold. I also found the main cookbox was rusting out in places. I thought replacing all the worn parts was going to be close to the cost of a new grill - but figured I'd call anyway and compare to a new grill ($2500).

Called them up and they went through everything and asked me to send pictures. The offered to replace the cookbox under warranty. In my manual, the cookbox warranty is 10 years...so I'm well out of warranty.

I did have to pay for a new gas manifold and I decided to go ahead a replace some other parts which are probably fine, but would take some work to get back to near original condition. Parts list of my wants and needs was up around $600 to $700 - new gas manifold, new burner tubes, stainless steel grates and drip bars, some new knobs just for aesthetics...Guy on the phone compiled the list and then said "OK - Your total including tax is $314 and I'm shipping it all for free".

Still cost me a few dollars - but considering what I was expecting - I'm very happy.

Looking forward to my parts arriving and having an almost completely new grill.
