I need to have a shed about 6 x 8 or so. Any recommendations on something easy I can build? The metal kits at Lowe's are interesting. Are they easy to put up?

With the price of lumber you may be better looking at prefab for sure.

Money and area permitting go bigger than what you think you need.
They fill up fast!

I went the metal shed route, considering I didn't need it to last 30 years and wanted something larger (10x12). I saw the cheap metal sheds at HD for $400 or so, but they only had 5.5ft walls, so I went to manufacturer's website (Arrow - ShelterLogic), and bought the series that was 1 tier up, just so I didn't have to duck to enter and also a little more headroom. I'm almost finished building and I've been pleasantly surprised with the quality thus far.
I built a nice solid foundation for it so that the shed itself is basically just a protection from elements. I should be able to easily stiffen it up if I find there are some weak areas later on.
Spent $850 on the shed & $500 on lumber for foundation.
Building the foundation was the toughest part, I am assembling the shed now by myself and I could've done it all over weekend if I wasn't lollygagging. I think with 2 people you could put up in one 8-hour day easy.

My dad just bought a Tuff Shed and really likes it. Not sure how big his is but I would think you would want to go a little bigger than 6’x8’. I know I could fill that up quick.

I started this shed last fall. Lumber prices were already going crazy, so materials ended up costing me about 4k. It's 16x12. The 10/12 roof sucked, but it provides a nice attic for more storage. I need to go finish the siding but the damn weather!

Very nice, I would take that for 4k in a second. How big is the roll up door and how much did you find it for if you dont mine me asking?

Overhead doors are actually pretty cheap. That one is a 5x7 Clopay. I bought it locally in BR for $400. I think it was from Doortech.

I went the Tuff Shed route and love it. I went the 12*16 route so I can have the storage (loft area) and a useable work bench.
Back to OP, check your jurisdiction's permit rules. I believe in JP as long as the shed is under 100 sqft, you don't need a permit. So, I would consider something just under 100 sqft, if you have the spacing for it.

This. I went with an 8x12 from Tuff Shed last November and I didn't spend that much more than if I had built it myself. I'm pretty happy with the build quality. Frame is 2x4 on 16" centers. I think I paid right at 2k for it.

I built mine with a set of cheap plans from ICreatables.com
Now I believe I ended up going 12x16.
