I have a house 1850 sq/ft and small shop 600 sq/ft. House has a steep roof, several angles, kinda cut up I guess. Shop is just regular. Remove old shingles, clean up, etc. Regular architect shingles - 30 years.
Help me out on what I should pay to have a new roof put on?

I've got a roof about that size with steep pitches I just got bids on and they were all over the place. High was 14k and low was $9600.

Is that with the shingles?

Post above me. A square is 10'x10', so yes, $3 a square foot.

Ours is a little over 3k sq/ft and takes about 30 squares. Had three different quotes and all came in at $9,400.

$12K-$14K range. If you're lucky insurance will pay for most of it.

North Louisiana is a little cheaper labor wise than other places, but every roof is different, and you need roof quotes. Is insurance involved? If they are, take price out of the equation and hire the best roofer, they will all work for insurance proceeds and with depreciation, there is no benefit to getting the cheapest price.

Sheesh. I have a 3k sqft house and about 1k detached garage. I got 3 quotes all around $21-23k from some of the bigger players in BR. Insurance estimate was right there, too.

the house we just purchased had a new roof put on in December 2019 before we bought it in may. 2000 sq/ft and steep pitch with architectural shingles was 7800 according to the paperwork the seller gave us at closing.
