Schlage. But be careful, some use WiFi, some use Zwave. Pick the right one. If you don’t have a zwave router, pick the regular wifi. You may have to buy a separate wifi adapter or it may come with it.

I had a Schlage for years liked it for the most part. I changed to Eufy a year or so ago after the Schlage wouldn't take my code any longer and wouldn't let me reprogram for some reason.

I leave early in the morning sometimes and with the Schlage, it was super loud when locking. On occasion the wife would hear it and wake up. No big deal, just louder than I liked. With the Eufy, I have to actually listen close to make sure it locks.

No way I could go back to a normal key. I also like that I can unlock it from my phone in case someone needs to pick something up from the house for me. I can create a special code for them or just unlock/lock it from my phone whenever necessary.

I had both the zwave schlage and the wifi schlage. They were fine but thought I'd try something a little different at the new house so I picked eufy.

Battery life on the wifi was a solid 6 months with constant usage as this was our front door and the kids were in and out all day long.

I think keypad locks are strictly for deadbolts. You should be fine with any name brand (Yale, Kwikset, Schlage, etc.) and will have keypad style entry.

If you want Wi-Fi equipped, Yale/Nest/Google have some options. I'm sure they are pretty safe considering it's a safety product. You should be more concerned about people physically picking your lock and not hacking your Wi-Fi. Go watch The Lockpicking Lawyer on YT and you'll see what I mean. All locks are pickable if you have the tools and really want to.

That being said, go with what you like. I got the SimpliSafe Smart Lock because we have their home security system so it makes sense. It also deactivates the alarm when I unlock the door via keypad which is a nice. Check with your home security provider brand if they have anything. I would also suggest sending this to the Tech Board regarding Wi-Fi capable products.

my mother has the Schlage (i think) that has keypad and actually operates the deadbolt electrically. It's always been kinda wonky to me and now it's died. I want to replace with the Schlage keypad and manual bolt throw, which we've had and never had any issues.

We've been happy with our Wyze Lock Bolts. Fingerprints and codes for under $75. No wifi, but I can set them to lock after a certain time period during certain hours. Example- lock after being unlocked for 15 minutes between 9pm and 9am. LINK

that’s kind of nice. I just never got into the WiFi type locks. Just never saw the necessity. I turned off the automatic locking feature. Can’t tell you how many times I go out to do something and come back and slam the deadbolt into the casing.

Thanks to everyone for suggestions… gives me some ideas.

Now I had not considered a WiFi lock… what is the point of this… remote locking and unlocking? Logging?

Can lock it from bed when your wife will ask you to make sure all the doors are locked.

I've also used mine to open a door remotely with our having to give someone a code.

My wife is worried about someone hacking the wifi and being able to unlock the door. Is that a thing?

Probably far less common than picking a lock, or breaking a window but sure

The lockly has Bluetooth. I don't think the one I have has wifi. It may but I haven't set it up. My front door is yale or something and just a keypad. No connectivity.

nobody spending time picking a lock. I know how to pick a lock and sometimes it takes a while. People worry way too much about locks on doors and then put a vinyl window with a small plastic hook holding it closed. If I want to get in your house I’m going through that window fast and quiet.

I watched a video one time of a guy getting into a house by slicing through the vinyl siding with a knife.

Opened my eyes that day.
