frick a damn snake….consider any that I see to be an endangered species. I don’t think there is anything that you can do to keep them off your property.

we have snakes on our property often. Venomous snakes in the wild get a pass and given a wide berth, when they're in my yard in close proximity to the house and family they're killed. Non-venomous snakes are encouraged and while not tame are held in the same regard as pets.

Possums enjoy eating and are great at eating all snakes they come across and are resistant to snake venom. They also kill an estimated 5,000 ticks a season and catch and eat cockroaches, rats and mice. So if you have possums around don't actively run them off. They won't harm your kids or your pets either.
And while they're not totally immune to rabies, Possums rarely carry it. As a marsupial, possums have a lower body temperature than most other mammals, so their bodies don't provide a suitable environment for the rabies virus.

doubt it was a copperhead. It was probably a rat snake. Send a pic, my 7 year old daughter can tell you.
She's an Xman?? Her mutant ability is identifying snakes? Neat!

Another appeared to be a big king snake that got away from me.
Good that it got away from you. Leave it be. Those are good snakes to have around. It'll take care of the other snakes you may not want around.
