My yard floods just about every time it rains and I'm looking to see if y'all have any recommendations on who around Baton Rouge would be good to talk to about getting some grading/drainage work done. We're on about 1/3 of an acre but are mainly having trouble with the back yard. Any recommendations are appreciated!!

I got a drainage plan and quote from Emile Halabi at NYS Outdoors. He was very smart, but didn't feel like driving to New Orleans to work every day. Price was very high IMHO, but he gave me several options

Pick a landscape contractor off google. They will all be expensive. The materials are very cheap. You’re paying out the arse for labor and expertise more or less

Greenscape Design Is a good one. Fair prices imo

Though I don’t have specific person or company to recommend, because you are in the BR area, you could consider stopping by both Keeling (industrialplex) and IrrigationMart, Airline Hwy, both within a mile of each other, to see if they might recommend some drainage contractors that do good work at reasonable/fair pricing. They sell supplies to these companies.

I’ve found both places to be helpful when asking for advice on DYI projects assoc with lawn drainage and landscape bed irrigation. Usually there is going to be one or 2 employees in the store that will be helpful in such matters. Maybe bring a sketch of your yard and where the problems are. They might convince you to DYI, or at least in part.
