Personally we will never go back to not having double wall ovens. My wife is an avid baker, I do bread a fair bit, plus just the ability to cook different items at different temps, proof bread in one or use one for a warmer/rester for meat while we use the other oven is just too invaluable to us.
Plus I like that the main oven standing height. Saves the back.
We went with wolf double ovens and we've been happy. Feel like they hold temp well and steady(better than the previous Electrolux that was there). Take a while to heat up.

Personally I wouldn't want/care for the steamer function.

We also went with a wolf cook top which we have been happy with. Will likely switch to a range top when finally officially redo the whole kitchen just for aesthetics..

If you have any way to not put the dishwasher in the island that could make it better.

Since I will have a Scullery, are you suggesting placing the dishwasher in that area?

By defintion, a Scullery is a place for prep and to store dirty dishes, silverware, bowls, etc. while preparing a meal to keep your kitchen clean.

We’re very happy with our 5 burner gas cooktop and wall ovens. Easier to keep clean than our previous range and gives the kitchen a cleaner look IMO. To each their own though.

Here’s a wild idea…2 dishwashers…one in the island and one in the scullery….if the one in the island is pissing you off only use it when no one is around

Not to hijack Will’s thread, but what was exact model. Did you consider do a hinged cabinet door for oven. I know they offer it and was wondering if it makes it easier getting stuff in and out.

Blue Star offers a side hinged door on the 24” oven and French doors on the 36”. We considered the French doors but decided the cost wasn’t worth it, and at the time it was a long time to wait on the order. If you get a 48” the small oven compartment comes standard with side hinge door

I love that your pantry is behind the scullery.

Why not slide the fridge closer to the scullery too? I think it makes sense to locate the fridge closer to both the pantry and scullery.

I sent revisions in to my architect late last week actually requesting just that.

Thanks for confirming what I thought made more sense!

I had been giving this some thought the last several days since you originally posted, and I'm almost certain this will be the direction I go in.

I'm looking at a Fisher & Paykel double (or single) dish drawer for the island. Takes up significantly less real estate when open, and won't block the island / range walkway.

I have a Bosch 800 that I will utilize for my Scullery (taking this with me from my current house).

I installed a F&P double drawer with custom cabinet drawer panels….damn thing was a pain in the arse to level…the rear feet cannot be adjusted from the front so you have to keep pulling the whole thing out and adjusting and push back in
