Question about electric bill

We're not living in our house right now as it's being renovated but our electric bill has not gone down since moving out. We still have the refrigerator plugged in and our pool pump is running but nothing else should be pulling any significant power. My Entergy bill shows us using about 78 kwh/day. I have a digital/wifi meter but we currently don't have wifi in our house.
I looked at the meter on 4/21 and it read 1602 15 kwh. I looked again on 4/27 and it read 1606 70 kwh. I'm not sure how to interpret these numbers and I spent an hour on the phone with Entergy who were absolutely no help at all. Any advice or knowledge to share would be much appreciated

They are not actually reading your meter. They are just guessing based off previous years data.
I know this because a couple of years ago some trees destroyed my house in a storm. The FD pulled my meter to prevent fires. I didn't have electricity in my house for 4 months.
I got a $400 bill after the first month. I called and asked how that was possible considering I didn't even have a meter anymore
She told me it was based on last years numbers.

They will do this, then randomly go by the house and check the meter and "reconcile the balance". It's why you hear people complain about their bill "suddenly" jumping or get excited when it's abnormally low.

You wouldn't happen to have it setup on level billing would you?

No, it's month-to-month.

I used 172 kWh last week, and I live here. My bill for the month is $90. Your usage is fine. What is different about Texas and LA (Entergy) where they can't pull your actual usage remotely? This ain't hard.

Entergy installed one of those new smartmeters and I can go to my online account and get just about every statistic about usage I can think of. Even current usage updated every 15min.

Does that rely on your home's wifi?

double no.
I will say that Entergy doesn't make it easy to find stuff. I go to look every few months and I have to re-figure out where shite is everytime.

My usage goes up every year…. Or at least that is what my bill says vs the same month of the prior year… never less usage
