COSTCO has 40# buckets of 3” tablets $40 off. Was $179.99 2 months ago, $139.99 right now.

Had a pool for 15 years, and never bought or fooled with that nasty
Chlorine shite.
Go for it, sounds like a bargain !!

These are ok to use as long as you don't already have high levels of CYA. I have one of these buckets and it is 2 years old and isn't empty. You need to put liquid chlorine in the pool typically and only use these if you need to increase your CYA.

I'm avoiding tablets at all costs for this reason. Only way to fix high CYA is to partially drain and refill. Liquid chlorine definitely runs out quick I've noticed.

I have high CYA because my pool guy adds tablets and shock instead of liquid chlorine. I plan on taking the pool maintenance over soon. Calcium Hardness is also low, which I am about to take care of myself.

I bought 8 40# pails in the February after the BioLab plant fire. Had read an article that a shortage was likely. At the time, a 40# pail from Home Depot or Lowe’s was $79.99. Those were the days! Still have 1.5 pails left

I order calcium chloride used to melt snow up north from Home Depot and use that. It saves a ton of money and the only downside is you have to wait for it to get delivered to local HD. If I recall correctly, it usually takes 2-3 days shipping but the shipping is free.
