If you want to dry out the wet area, I had tremendous luck by planting a Weeping Willow. Did as well as a Cypress would have done without the knees.

I think Willow roots can be destructive to foundations and sidewalks so just be aware of that. I wouldn't plant those near anything important.

Thanks, it’s good to know that I might not have to have pipes and pumps and such.
I’ve just got to prevent water from building up and staying under the house.

If it would ever rain I can see if it works!!

This was at my house in Mandeville where the drainage between houses ran across my backyard. The tree loved it, it was the biggest tree in the neighborhood in just a few years
