School me please on how to care for it. It is a potted pineapple top from local grocery store. TIA.

UF - Growing Pineapples
This is from the University of Florida. May be something similar from Hawaii that you can read. Enjoy!

That brings back a memory - I did this a couple times a decade ago and produced an edible fruit.
But to answer your question, it required no special treatment other than what would be required for any tropical plant - most important, protecting it from freezing temperature in winter, which for me was a pain moving it in and out of heated storage shed….,but that’s just me.
Osmocote type slow-release fertilizer in the pot (amount - follow directions on the fertilizer container), supplemented with a liquid fertlizer (Miracle Gro type product) every couple weeks when I could remember. Full sun and of course watering as needed, which is often for an outdoor potted plant in south LA in summer.
It took either 2 or 3 years to produce a fruit (been a while…..lol……) and the fruit produced was maybe 1/2 the size of a store bought pineapple when it ripened but it was very tasty.
I’ve given up growing tropical fruits in a sub-tropical/temperate climate - more effort than I care to provide without having greenhouse to over-winter the plants…..lol.

We planted one and it didn't last 24 hours.
A racoon came along and ate it.
