Patio cover question

I have a 15’x15’ concrete patio attached to my house. Any general idea what it would cost to have someone put up a gable roof cover?

If it was all aluminum you would be looking at ~$2500-$3000

Are you talking open exposed wood under the gable or some type of ceiling structure? Do you currently have shingle on the house? Metal? If you have shingles, the age and condition of the shingles could dictate if the gable end can be tied into the existing roof structure and the shingles repaired or if all the shingles on the roof need to be replaced.

Sorry Wick, I realized the error in my post. It would need to be a shingle roof addition.

Slight highjack.....sorry.....
What about an insulated patio cover for a roughly 10x25 space?
TIA

The shingles/ metal roof covering over the gable is not that big of an issue, exapecially if the shingles on the home are newer and not brittle. The construction of the gable could be cheap to expensive depending on post used, exposed wood vs vinyl soffit ceiling etc. This could be a 10k job or a $50k job depending on the construction materials.
You need to first decide what you want before anyone can even begin to help with a price

Mine is 10x24 western red cedar beams. It has a metal roof with cedar flooring underneath. $8k.

I'd guess around $5,000 to $10,000.
I'm building a 400 sq ft free standing gabled pavillion around my pool right now. Entire project I'm probably about $5,000 in material into it. That's stamped and stained concrete, steel welded frame with wood rafters, composite shingles, and shiplap vaulted ceilings on the underneath. It has electricity, speakers, fans and lights under it. Nothing over the top but not just a basic setup. I've done all of the labor myself with a couple of good friends so I don't have that expense.
Backing concrete out since you already have that, materials are about $9.50 a sq ft. I can't imagine anyone doing the job for less than $2,500 to $3,000 in labor.

quote:this is spot on, i had a cement portion covered from our patio to the back yard, roughly 15x20', it was $3000 on the money without insulation, with it would have been $5000

Dlambe5, I'd love to see images and know where you are. You hire out the job? Have a similar size area to complete.

This is who I used
They are thru Home Depot. They are legit. Only downfall is they only build the structure. If you want electrical you would have to do it separately. I did my own.
I can email you some photos if you want.

Friend got his done thru HD and is very pleased. I'd love to get one thru them but I don't believe they attach them to the roof deck.

Shoot me an e-mail when you have a second and I'll send you some pics of where its at right now. It'll hopefully be getting roofed on Thursday.
I'm not interested in signing up for whatever it is you have to sign up for in order to post pics here.

I'm assuming this is a joke? I know you can spend this much, but there's no way that's a minimum?
But where does even $10k come from if the concrete is already there and all he wants is a basic shingle or metal roof?
Materials has to be under $2,000? For 150 sq ft of roof? Two guys can't do this in under a week? Let's say $5-6k in labor at most?
I feel like there is a ton of profit built in here, and if someone did these routinely in a bigger market they could kill it.
