That's my fear too
I'll wait and see, I have a good one picked out at HD if the current one isn't adequate. LINK

Want to move air? Want it to be stable? Want it to last against the elements?
Big arse Fans come in all sizes.
These are 24 and 20 footers and they move some damn air. We were the first business in Louisiana to have them. They were installed in 2006 and have never given me a lick of problems. They have a giant selection of sizes to choose from now.

At $4,000 they better be good!
As mentioned earlier, the smaller fans made by Big arse Fans are also very good at about $500. That is 5X what some fans at Home Depot run, but you get what you pay for.

The best bang for the buck is to go to Sam's and get a Lasko squirrel cage or two.
You won't win a pictorial profile in Southern Living with them, but they are fairly low profile, move more air than any regular ceiling fan, and are quiet.
The quietness is a huge factor. I can run two on the patio, and you don't have to raise your voice to talk. Those damn wire-cage fans, on the other hand, sound like a cropduster taking off.

Minka Air: We have had 3 Minka airs for about 4 years now in our covered patio area and 1 out of the 3 have given us trouble. Overall though they are good fans and move a good amount of air. I would advise against going with multiple Minka airs in one area since syncing of them is a nightmare with the remote controls and the company customer service sucks. If you only need one, then it could work.

This is a picture of the fans I want to replace, the tiny oscillating ones in the corners.

Honestly, in that set up you'd be better off replacing both fans with bigger, 6-8 blade fans and doing away with those all together. They're too high to do anything but blow air on whatever is standing right under them. Two 60" or 72" Minka Air fans would make that area feel like a wind tunnel.

I had this same issue. My back patio is 20x20. A few years ago I changed the ceiling fan with this Kensgrove 72". Sitting under it, it moves plenty of air.

Last year I also added these fans for just 2 of the corners to get more air flow across the patio. Air King is the only way to go. Mine move PLENTY of air while not being nearly as loud as a drum fan (had multiple ones over the years). Also very stout mounting. Many different options with this brand as far as size, cfm, hp. I wired these into the same switch as my ceiling fan and can turn them off or change speeds with just a pull of the rope. I got the ceiling mount because most people have better luck with this style mount compared to the wall mount which may sag overtime.

Harbor Freight has big standing fans that blow so hard, you can feel them from 30ft away. My mom has two of them they use all summer, but they can't keep them right next to everyone, or everything will blow off of the tables
