Any recs on buying sod around Nola? Looking for either empire zoysia or celebration Bermuda.
Also, is October too late to lay sod? Better to wait until spring?

Try Delta Sod, on Central Ave in Jefferson.

No, you can lay sod in the winter.

When I needed a pallet of St. Aug, I ended up at Jefferson Feed right down the road from Delta. Looked like they had other options, but we already had St. Aug so didn't pay attention to the other grass.

Got Bermuda from Jefferson feed. Forget which kind.

October is a whole lot better than now

Delta is who I used as well. Do you know someone with a landscape business? In my case they were able to get a significant discount to what Delta was quoting me.

I've used Simpson Sod on the north shore. They have Celebration.

Agree totally. With the daily heat we've been having I would think even with daily watering you'd run the risk of the grass not rooting and the sod dying.
At least wait until mid to late September, keep it watered well until daily temperatures aren't so hot and then water as needed.
Our winters have been so mild that grass will grow, just not as fast as in the spring once it is established.

Don't put it down now. Wait till end of September or October.
