Need something to keep my couch from sliding

I've got a 3yo and he is a tiny ball of energy. He loves to run into our couch and it pushes the couch backwards. We don't have the couch up against a wall (layout won't allow it) and the front half is on a large area rug and the back half is on wood floors. Anyone have any success with a particular product or hack that will help me out and keep the couch from moving backwards all the time?

J/k, I'm in the same boat. Ours doesn't leave scratches so I just keep moving it back.

I put those stick-on furniture pads on the feet of my couch.
That way, when it slides, it won't leave a mark since they have thick felt pads.
Perhaps if the OP used a soft rubber based pad under each leg of the couch.

Get a non stick carpet pad - the kind with felt on one side and rubber on the other, cut it to fit each leg and hot glue it to the legs. The rubber will mostly keep it from sliding.

That's what we have on ours now. The felt pads. It is against a wall, but it has been moved left to right several times when my boys are running around. Our old set up, we had a little loveseat and used the rubber pads below the feet to keep it from moving back. They're fairly small, and if you get one in a similar color to the couch legs they blend in pretty well.

Have a similar situation, but they run into the back. Only time they temporarily stop is when they hit the wood support piece running down the middle with their head. As others have stated, I use the felt pads which makes it easier to glide, but avoids scratches.
I would avoid the rubber stoppers because they can leave black marks if the kids get enough of momentum.

I finally got some so slide furniture pads from Amazon and so far they have worked well

This was best i found. It's not foolproof, but works most of the time. Only problem is it's hard to put them back if it gets moved, especially if leg falls off a coaster. Maybe something like Sugru (sp?) would do the trick. It's like liquid that turns to rubber when it is put on a surface.

I have the same problem except with a 3 year old Australian Shepherd. He gets always gets hyper and jumps on and off the quick and makes it slide. We have the felt pads on the feet, but I always just slide it back. They make the sticky rug pads, but not sure how much it would stand up to something like this.

Got something similar from Amazon that comes in square or round and they work great for my 6 and 4 year old boys on furniture

Home Depot rubber coasters work great for me.
