V stupid and embarrassing question - I'm a novice at this but trying to learn.

Random mushrooms pop up in the yard (st aug) from time to time, is that good? Or is that bad?

Usually mushrooms indicate rotting wood just under the ground.

Or very rich soil.

Usually a symptom of something positive.

Pull and toss in the trash.

10-4, thanks guys, figured it was either really bad or just a product of good soil & some moist conditions.

Man they grow fast too. Cut grass and a day later mushrooms in my yard looked like golf balls on a tee

This grew at my friends place, overnight. He lives in New Iberia.

Getting them, too. Pull them up every morning. Dog poop, even though I scoop every time they go, plus some recent rain, seems it bring them on. I don’t think they are the poison kind, but to be safe, they are pulled bf dogs go out.

The hippies used to turn over my granddaddy's cow pies out in the pasture to get mushrooms. They boiled them and made some sort of tea out of it. Apparently, it must have been tasty.
