I got about 2 acres of nothing but pines and poison ivy/oak. What’s the best killer for this?

TIA

Triclopyr. Be careful around desirable trees.

Active ingredient is Triclopyr.

I use some stuff called crossbow at my property.
Its triclopyr and 2,4d mix.

Works very, very well on woody brush and trees. Will not kill grass.

so will MSM (cimmaron, chaparral). i'm not sure there is a drop-dead product for woody vines that won't kill trees but i may be wrong. certainly the most effective ones will

i've got a horrible dewberry infestation allunder and around my big fig tree. i'd love to nuke the dewberry but i cant

I’m fighting this mess too. I’ve been considering getting a propane torch under and around my trees that have it. Just not sure if it will damage my good trees.

dont, trust me
Won’t bother the trees but burning will stimulate the dewberry to spread even further underground and it will get even worse

problem is when you let it go to fruit it drops thousands of new seeds. I took the day off and went Phil Leotardo (decapitate and do business with whatever is left) on my bad area, now is a good time to do it as the soils are saturated and more of the root will come up than usual

no way I got anything close to getting all the roots but it’s a start. I’m hoping I can spot treat when it resprouts with something nontoxic to the tree

Try this out. It shouldn't kill or harm the trees

TRICLOPYR Is the active ingredient in that. Are we sure that’s safe around trees? I’m seeing conflicting info

From reading it is should be safe when used to control ivy. To kill the trees you are supposed to do 1 part this stuff and 4 parts diesel!
