It's getting hot.
I'm looking for suggestions? Misting fan? Squirrel cage fan?
Send me links to something that moves air and cools the space.
Thanks in advance.

misting fans don't work well with our humidity, you just need some air movement. there are outdoor ceiling fans and wall mounted fans available. your local lighting showroom should be able to help

100% correct. Misting fan feels nice for a moment, then that goes away quickly.

I installed a ceiling fan.
Helps tremendously with bugs and heat.

Do you switch it spin clockwise in the winter?

I have a ground AirKing on wheels in the garage. Love it. For your patio I was thinking of one on a stand that pivots and swivels.

Squirrel cage fan
Most other portable fans make such a damn noise that you can't hear each other talk. The squirrel cages may not be stylish, but they are best for quietly moving air to stay cool and blow away mosquitoes.
Sam's often has good deals on the Lasko models. I've had two for years, and I bet I've been responsible for 10 more sales. People experience ours and go buy them.
If your patio is concrete or similar, spray it with water after it is in the shade. The evaporation of that water will draw off a bunch of the heat stored in it. I have sometimes run the sprinkler zone in the area for a few minutes during the hottest evenings. It will cool the grass and plants and have a surprising impact on the backyard temps.

Air King mounted in corner
It’s not terribly loud which I like a lot
Also use a squirrel cage as needed

I got a misting fan from cajun kooling. The dealer is located in Lafayette.

I freeze water bottles and place in the water reservoir. As close to sitting in front of a huge AC as you can get.
It's worth every penny I paid. I live in St. Mary Parish if you want to come check out mine.

I bought a small swivel tv mount with extender arm and then attached an Air King to it. Works great.
