I have a house in the Old Goodwood/Tara area of BR that I am ready to do a complete remodel/upgrade. I am looking for someone who is familiar with design of these homes, who is honest and can complete in a timely manner. Who does the H&G board recommend?

Good luck and I mean that. I am on my third and have found that post-flood the pickings are in two categories. High priced shite heads that don’t know what they are doing. And astronomically priced decent contractors. It’s their market for the foreseeable future.

Yea not looking forward to it. We were about to pull the trigger on a contractor right before the flood, the flood changed that. Now he does not want to do the job.

so you are in Tara?

I am about to start prepping for selling. Once sold, then I will pick the next house.

I am seeing alot of remodels in Tara on the market.

In the Tara/Old Goodwood area off of LaSalle. Love living on this side of town less than 5 min from anything we may need. There is a big movement of young families moving into Tara and remodeling their homes. You can find a nice home for $150/sqft.

Tevin Koomson---he has done a lot of work on older houses around BR. Very honest and fair.

Howdy neighbor. We recently made the move back to that part of town as well. Love the location and since Baton Rouge traffic isn’t going to get any better it’s awesome being close to everything so traffic is a non-issue now.

Cameron Hernandez

I came here to post this and I’m glad to see that his name is already here. I’ve known Cameron for a long time and would definitely use him if I were planning to remodel.

Is Cameron with Centurion or JBC construction?

He was previously with both. I believe he was co-owner of JBC. JBC was mostly residential, Centurion is commercial. He’s on his own now and doing business as Cameron Moore Construction
