Help identifying weed

This weed is starting to take over my yard. Can anyone identify it and recommend a way to get rid of it?

take a hand spade and dig it up pretty deep and see if theres a rhizome or more likely a corm that its growing from. if there is its easy to remove (albeit individually). if there isnt (which means its growing from seed) its going to be something you'll need to try and spot treat it
