Not a Samsung. Had one that was here when we bought the house and in less than 5 yrs had been worked on 3 times ( unit was new with the house). Last repairman that we called said he wouldn’t work on a Samsung. Have a whirlpool now and no complaints.

Just chiming in got a Samsung with the house... It is garbage
Our last fridge was a Kenmore (whirlpool) single door with bottom freezer. No water dispenser, super simple and no problems for 10 years. Buyers demanded it with the house we sold.... Should have kept it

Always had a Maytag. They and Whirlpool are same company now. We bought a Whirlpool 22' in November in stainless. Love it. Side by side NO water/ice maker. Keep it simple...and less expensive.

Buddy of mine is head of maintenance for a property management company, and services a bunch of fridges and this is what he told me.
1. Stay away from the "fancy ones" with lots of bells and whistles.
2. Stay away from LG and Samsung. They both make decent other appliances, but they're fridges suck.
3. Kenmore/Whirlpool, Frigidaire, Maytag, and GE all have about the same track record. Not much separation with them.
4. Buy the extended warranty. Around 2005 or 2006 some new standard or regulation was introduced that made the condensers less reliable and they frequently malfunction.
5. They've become less desirable, but the old school fridges with small freezer on top, and fridge on bottom are still the most reliable overall. French door ones with slide out freezer on bottom are notorious for the ice makers not lasting very long.
Take it FWIW.
