What exactly are you referring to? And what are you cleaning?
Muriatic acid is what is commonly referred to as acid. It can be bought at home Depot.
We use it in commercial construction to clean masonry after being laid and concrete that has rust stains.
Dilute 10 parts water to 1 part acid. Spray on the surface, let sit for 1 minute or so, then scrub the area with a wire brush. Make sure to flood the area when you wash it off.
If you are using it to clean heavy rust stains I advise you neutralize it with an ammonia/water mix before you rinse the area with water. If not, the rust stains will run where ever the water runs. Instead of a small, heavy rust stain, you will get a giant, light rust stain.
You MUST wear PPE. Gloves and sleeves are a must. It will burn your skin if it gets on you. When I use it, I wear a 3m respirator and safety glasses.
If you inhale the concentrated fumes, it can burn your lungs/trachea.
I would not advise using it if you aren't going to take it seriously.
That being said the shite will clean ANYTHING off concrete.

I use it to clean boats that have stains in the gelcoat. Best thing to use. Yes, be very careful using it. Myself, I wouldn't use it inside a house due to flumes.

I use muriatic acid in my pool and to clean calcium deposits off the travertine decking.

When I was a kid my neighbor had a big pig roast in his driveway. The next day there was pig grease all over it. They had bottles of muriatic acid to clean it off. I thought it would be a good idea to open one and smell it.
Don't.
Don't.

Don't think it will really clean the tile but will attack the grout. Leave it on the grout too long or put it on too srong and it will severely weaken the grout. It will clean concrete but if you ever think you might acid stain concrete don't do it. You only get one shot with acid and concrete. Just plan on cleaning concrete? Yes, it will work. Try a couple of spots with a 2% to 5% dilution to see if you get the results you are looking for.

You might check out sulfamic acid.
It's not near as strong as muratic and will clean up a lot of masonry/tile projects. Tile section.
