Never had any issues with it, then today it just won’t turn on. I’ve reset the circuit breaker, didn’t work. I’m now in the market for new dishwasher.

Been reading reviews about dishwashers is a funny thing. It seems no one likes their dishwashers. Moreover, people seem to hate their dishwasher in many different ways.

Does anyone have a dishwasher they’ve spent money on, reasonable price, and are genuinely satisfied?

There was a thread on here recently about it. I’m too lazy to find it, but I posted a link to a review that basically suggested that Bosch tends to win in the efficient and quiet category while cleaning very well. I read a review suggesting the 800-series did not particularly outclean the 500 series, but the Benchmark series performed well above everything else. I have ordered one from the Benchmark series but have not received it yet.

a few things you need to check first

dpes it have a plug? if it does the socket it goes to could be a GFI and its tripped or just gone bad

have yoiu checked behind the kick plate? often they have a manual reset button for a breaker behind it

make sure you have power at the dishwasher

if all that checks out then yep, its toast

We are on the third set of trays in our LG. The rubber begins peeling exposing the metal which of course is covered with rust. Less than 5 years old. Stay away.

Bosch. No real competition on this one.

Note: People taking the time to review are the ones most likely dissatisfied.

I have a high end Bosch; it's super quiet but it is completely incapable of drying dishes

weird this is not my experience. i have the mid tier bosch. supposedly all bosch models have the exact same cleaning system. the difference is the type of drying and extra features (3rd rack, etc.). got the one i did because of third rack and drying feature. i much prefer it to the old heating element drying system because i can put plastic on the bottom

Yep. Bought ours through Costco. Purchase price included installation and removal of old unit.

We bought a Whirlpool Model WDTA50SAKZ 3 shelves high capacity.

You do have to select extended dry cycle. That would be my only complaint.

Just replaced the pump motor on my kitchen aid. Conveniently a few days out of warranty. Now the heating element doesn’t work. So my vote is to stay away

I work with a few brands and the people suggesting Bosch are spot on. They put out a quality product. Hands down the quietist dish washer on the market right now.

I replaced my 22-year-old GE with a Thermador, after the 2016 flood (Thermador is owned by Bosch)

So far, it’s been rock-solid dependable.

It’s quiet.

In fact, the more dishes in the unit, the quieter it is -- I ran it empty for a couple of cycles, when it was new; when empty, the water jets will beat like a drum against the stainless steel walls, and it makes more noise

My old GE sounded like a jet plane taking off; the Thermador, with a full load, is (to my ear) silent from 8 feet away

It dries very well, BUT:

You have to keep the reservoir at least half-full of rinse aid -- otherwise, a switch inside the reservoir will disable the dryer’s heater -- and I suspect (but cannot prove) that all current dishwashers are designed thus, and that most failure-to-dry troubles stem from this. Thermador recommends Finish JET-DRY, and I use that.

The filter, in the bottom of the tub, is very easy to remove and clean

I only have 2 CONs, so far:

1 -- Unlike my old GE, the Thermador’s DRY cycle cannot be run independently -- the machine must always execute a wash cycle before a dry cycle can start

2 -- It is one of those “high-efficiency” monstrosities, intended to minimize water use -- but (as I understand it) they’re all that way, now.

But there is a way to [partially] counter CON #2: the combination of “Pots & Pans”, “Powerboost”, and “Extra Dry” will use the most water, will heat up the wash water the most, and will give the hottest dry cycle. I use that combination for everything.

Approx. $1,500.00, installed, from the Choctaw location of Stanton’s in BR (don’t bother with the Perkins Road store).

It sounds like a lot, but my flood insurance paid for it.

I expect YMMV.

Do you use the rinse aid? I love my Bosch, and the only time I have issues with it not drying is if I leave a bowl or tupperware at a bad angle and a little water sits on the lip, so I always empty bottom rack -> mid rack -> top rack just to be safe. But I also always use the rinse aid, and I wonder how much difference that makes.

We have a bosch that is super quiet and does a great job, but it takes a long time to run a load. Like 2-3 hours...

Not that big a deal, we usually set it to run at night.

this is the standard now. most have a ~1 hr cycle now, but the normal load always takes 2+ hours

Last week’s thread with the link I mentioned (I linked my post)

If you click my link then read the first review on Houz’s two links, he says the same, but he finds that the Benchmark is a significant step up in cleaning capability.
