I’m currently having to dig up areas in my yard and replace it with st Aug. I’ve had a lot of new crabgrass growth past couple years.

Post a picture if you can. If it’s actively growing right now it’s probably not crabgrass.

It's ok for Centipede and St. Aug but DO NOT use on Zoysia and Bermuda lawns, unless you are trying to kill common Bermuda...

Sethoxydim can't be sprayed on St Aug either. Celsius will control young crabgrass. It will take more than one treatment.

3 ways. to stop new plants use any preemergent with dithiopy?r. Dimension is a readily found product. Preen can help too. Other than that, you are stuck with hand picking and spot treating with RoundUp. Scott's has a product called spot weed control but it seems to work better in warmer months so if you use it now, you will likely have to reapply in a couple weeks

Hotdog water. Doesn’t hurt surrounding grass but wipes out the crabgrass

I like this Garden Weasel Weed Popper for spot removal of crabgrass and dandelions in the lawn.

There's zero setup time and it makes small holes that aerate the grass.

This brand has a pushbutton on the handle to quickly pop out the weed into a bucket.

They sell it on Amazon but the local hardware store sells it much cheaper at around $25.

Like, the water left in the pot after you boil hotdogs?

I guess not lol. I thought maybe that was a brand of herbicide or slang for something. When i was a kid i had a cat that would eat any meat except hotdogs. If they kill crabgrass, he may have been onto something.

Spot treat with round up for sure. I’ve fought it and Dallisgrass for years. I just hit a good chunk of my backyard with round up bc nothing works.

Pre-emergent fall and twice in spring to help control any further growth. Then plug round up spots with sod as needed or just let the grass grow through depending on how big of spots you have

And FYI, I have centipede and have tried everything under the sun(Hi-Yield, Tenacity, another one that I can’t think of right now, and I’ve tried picking/digging them out) all without long term success.
