I truly appreciate OP's intention and creative thought, been there myself; however I'm not sure turning (pseudo)trusses into rafters is the way to go. The stresses of his current three points of contact -versus- the two would require a hard real look at the two supports. And how things like outward expansion-loading might come into play? There's more than just down forces to consider.

Others were correct, but Awestruck hit it out of the park with the illustration. OP needs an structural engineer to put a stamp on any changes. Builders don't waste that many 2x4s.
