IIRC, you can get all of these from Amazon, too.
This, my local Ace Hardware also has them.

What have you had success with treating lespedeza? Thanks!
By the time Lespedeza appealrs in my yard my yard, I’ve usually have transitioned to MSM Turf and Celsius herbicides b/c of the heat, and both are effective on lespedeza.

Bumping this. Is it too late to put some of this down?

What type of lawn? You can’t use atrazine on Bermudagrass once it breaks dormancy and greens up.
Other warm season grasses - centipede, St Augustine and Zoysia - you can use the cocktail until temps hit the mid-80s.

I sprayed some down yesterday morning.
I spoke with the folks @ Cleggs for a good while, and I asked them, if I were to spray this morning( Saturday), and we have no rain today and on Sunday would I be good?
They told me, as long as you have 2-4 hours of no rain, then you’ll be good....Which turned out well.
I have Bermuda grass and they said I can use the cocktail, but DONT include the Atrazine.

Just now seeing these responses. Beam is right, you can spray it in April. I normally do it in May just because I’m finishing off any msm I have mixed.

Thanks everyone. I have Bermuda so I’ll leave out the atrazine. How long should I wait after spraying this before I fertilize?

I'm not sure what your bermuda looks like but mine is 100% dormant and it will be for few more weeks. If yours is like that you can use the atrazine. If not then you can use certainty. Wait until your lawn is at least 50% greened up on its own.

Cleggs was packed this weekend but I was able to get the products for the cocktail. I had a small shower yesterday afternoon so I held off on spraying but will get it down asap.

Am i supposed to spray the entire yard with the cocktail or just the spots with weeds? I have centipede. Or should i just wait or use a hose spray clover/weed killer on the whole yard?

Why is it called the Clegg’s cocktail? Did they come up with it? Is Weed Free Zone not available other places?
Posted on 3/1/21 at 5:55 pm to OysterPoBoy
Cleggs probably wrote it down and handed it out to customers. There’s nothing proprietary about it. I’m sure there are other places that give out their weed control mixes and it gets a name.

This is correct - one of the co-owners of Cleggs is a co-host of a radio garden program in BR on Sat AM - and he stated on the radio program in response to a caller’s question on late winter lawn weed control they got the recommendation for weed free zone + atrazine herbicide mixture (cocktail) from weed and turf management extension faculty with the LSU AgCenter.
Cleggs sells these herbicides, as do many other retail garden centers and hardware stores, but Clegg’s puts together recipe cards near the herbicides on the shelf for their customers, and they just referred to it as “Cleggs Winter Weed Cocktail” on their “recipe” card. They don’t take credit for coming up with the cocktail formulation.

You can do either - your choice. Time to kill weeds is when you see them - I would not wait.

It’s smart on their part. I don’t blame them.

So I sprayed about 5 days ago. What and what type of results should I see on the weeds that were sprayed?
Posted on 3/14/21 at 3:26 pm to broadhead
I sprayed this yesterday. Is it ok to cut grass this evening or should I wait?

I have a bottle of WFZ and Atrazine from last year. Wonder if this stuff loses its potency after a summer stored in a garage.

Label on the weed free zone says to wait 48 hours after spraying to cut - that’s to give the herbicide more time to translocate through the vascular system of the weed. If you have to cut go ahead, but if you can wait another day that would be better.
